ScioThe device, SCiO, developed by an Israeli company called Consumer Physics is a molecular sensor that fits in the palm of your hand and reads the chemical make-up of materials. It is a non-intrusive, no-touch optical sensor that provides a seamless user experience. SCiO can also get nutritional facts about different kinds of food including dairy products, fruits and vegetables. It can identify capsules containing medicine and nutritional supplements. The developers of the device, Consumer Physics, said it could also tell you how sweet a piece of fruit is, or how many calories are in it.
